Culinary Programs The Art Institute of San Antonio is a branch of The Art Institute of Houston located in Houston, Texas. We prepare students for careers in the visual and practical arts. Programs of study are carefully defined with the support and contributions of experienced members of the professional community. Culinary Arts*

In the Culinary Arts program, you’ll have an opportunity to gain practical experience in the kitchen while studying the business of cost control, sanitation and safety, menu and beverage management, nutrition, and kitchen management. You’ll have an opportunity to learn to produce food quickly and in quantity while working with others. Graduates are prepared to seek entry-level employment such as line cook and pantry cook (garde manger).

Culinary Management

How does a restaurant run? There’s the cuisine – but there’s also management to oversee the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, dining room, and staff. The Culinary Arts & Restaurant Management program balances culinary theory and practice. Students learn cooking, baking, communications, and management skills. Graduates are prepared to seek entry-level employment such as prep cook, line cook, assistant food service manager, and assistant food and beverage manager.
