Culinary ProgramsThe Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale is committed to student success with instructors who are professionals in their areas of expertise and programs with hands-on experience and the technology to support them. Assignments include real-world projects. Plus we have a career services team dedicated to assisting each student.

Our mission is to provide you with the art and design education you'll need to sharpen your creative talent and the technical skills needed in the areas of design, media, fashion and the culinary arts. The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale faculty and staff will guide you, challenge you and encourage you on your quest for a lifelong career in your chosen field.

Culinary Programs Offered:

Art of Cooking
In the Art of Cooking program, you’ll focus on cooking skills, baking, pastry, and American regional cuisine. You’ll have an opportunity to learn plating and presentation as you build upon your cooking experience.

Baking & Pastry
In the Baking & Pastry program, you’ll gain hands-on baking skills. Emphasis is placed on fundamental pastry and bread-baking techniques, in addition to all-purpose baking, desserts, cake decoration, and pastry arts. To complement your culinary techniques, you’ll learn critical thinking and business essentials. Graduates are prepared to seek entry-level employment such as line cook and pantry cook (garde manger).

Culinary Arts
In the Culinary Arts program, you’ll have an opportunity to gain practical experience in the kitchen while studying the business of cost control, sanitation and safety, menu and beverage management, nutrition, and kitchen management. You’ll have an opportunity to learn to produce food quickly and in quantity while working with others. Graduates are prepared to seek entry-level employment such as line cook and pantry cook (garde manger).

Culinary Management
In the Culinary Management program, you’ll have an opportunity to focus on communications, training, leadership, management, accounting, marketing, financial management, and employee relations. Graduates are prepared to seek entry-level employment such as restaurant manager or catering manager in restaurants, hospitals, cruise ships, and banquet facilities.
